学院简介
1952年秋，全国高级学校进行了院系调整。北京大学数学系与清华大学数学系、燕京大学数学系经调整后，组建了新的北京大学数学力学系。1978年分设为数学系和力学系。1985年，概率计算教研室独立成立了概率计算系。1995年，在数学系与概率计算系的根底上成立了北京大学数学科学学院。
